What are the Crowns and Bridges?

The Crowns and Bridges are fixed. Unlike removable devices, you can remove and clean every day, the Crowns and Bridges are sealed on teeth or implants and can be removed only by a dentist.
What is a crown?
A crown is used to cover or "cap" entirely a tooth. In addition to strengthen a damaged tooth, a crown can be used to improve the appearance, shape or alignment of a tooth. A crown can also be placed on an implant to restore function and aesthetics. The crowns made of porcelain or ceramic can match the color of natural teeth nearby. Other materials may be used: gold and other metal alloys, resin and ceramics. The alloys are usually stronger than porcelain and may be recommended for posterior teeth. Porcelain cooked on a metal reinforcement is often used because it combines strength and aesthetics.
Your dentist may advise you to a crown:
Replace a large filling when there is not enough substance Dental
Prevent a fragile tooth is broken
Restoring a fractured tooth
Serve as a bridge pillar
Place on an implant
Cover a tooth colored or malformed
Cover a tooth devitalised
