When the heart gets tired
The acute lung edema (OAP)
When the heart gets tired, its function is to pump enough blood and will stagnate upstream in the lungs, which appear pulmonary edema. That is why heart failure patients have difficulty breathing and cough. If heart failure is acute, it shows an acute lung edema (OAP).
Edema of the lower limbs
When heart failure worsens, the upstream will be congested, not only because of poor pump function but also because of water retention. The legs swell and form a swelling of the lower limbs.
When heart failure is severe, the brain is poorly vascularized and lack of oxygen: dizziness, disturbance of consciousness appear, discomfort may occur, or even a coma.
